When a person reach his seniority years, more less about 50 years old or more; he may or may not suffer from tooth loss. If not, then the problem now is how to protect it and to avoid tooth loss.

If you have to prevent something, you must first know the cause of tooth loss. Tooth loss is generally caused by gum disease and tooth decay. When we say gum disease or periodontal disease, this is the infection found in the gums surrounding the teeth. Tooth decay on the other hand, is the microbial disease that generates inside or within the tooth itself. As such, we must both protect our gums and our teeth. As such, here are some guides to healthier and complete teeth.

Brushing your teeth twice or more a day in order to prevent food particles and bacteria from affecting your teeth
Use a dental floss to remove food particles stuck between one’s teeth
Ask your dentist about fluoride therapy or the recommended toothpaste that will prevent tooth cavity
Use a mouthwash after brushing the teeth in order to remove bacteria found in the gums
Regular visits to the dentist are highly recommended.
Aside from the following guides, you may also refer to such other methods as may be prescribed by your dentist to maintain healthy teeth and strong gums, and likewise, prevention of teeth loss and the use of dentures.
